Engineering Marine Equipment for the World’s Most Demanding Vessels
For more than 120 years, Hawboldt Industries has designed, engineered, and manufactured custom marine deck equipment for commercial, research, naval, offshore, and government vessels around the world.
Every system we build is purpose-designed to maximize performance, safety, reliability, and efficient use of valuable onboard space. From vessel concept through commissioning and decades of operation, Hawboldt partners with customers to deliver engineered solutions that perform in the harshest marine environments.
Our equipment supports critical marine operations worldwide, helping vessel owners improve safety, increase operational efficiency, and reduce lifecycle costs through innovative engineering and uncompromising quality.
Everything Under One Roof
Unlike many marine equipment suppliers, Hawboldt designs, engineers, manufactures, tests, and supports every project from a single Canadian facility in Chester, Nova Scotia.
Our engineering, project management, manufacturing, testing, commissioning, and aftermarket support teams work together from a single Canadian facility, ensuring quality, accountability, and seamless project execution from concept through commissioning.

Hawboldt Industries was founded in 1906 to support the Atlantic fishery with new power equipment during the time when ships were converting from sails to engines. While the company has maintained its roots in the fishing industry, we have developed into a world-renowned designer, manufacturer and exporter of engineered marine equipment including launch & recovery systems for marine exploration, marine cranes, and deck equipment for workboats, patrol boats, ocean science and recreational vessels.
Mission Statement
